ASL Autobiography Final Exam

Name: Emma
Personal Information: Both of Emma's parents are deaf. She has 4 siblings; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. All of them are hearing and they are all very good at signing. The middle (3rd) brother was married and divorced twice, he has 2 sons and is now engaged. Emma is the 4th child, she is married and has been for 25 years. She and her husband have 2 kids, 1 boy and 1 girl, her daughter is 24 years old and her son is 19 years old. Her daughter is away at college and she and her girlfriends are bicycling around England for three months (that is a long time). Her son is now at college. He grew up loving computer games and he would always beat his sister when they would play them together. He is very good at them! Now that both of her kids do not live at home, her and her husband live alone. She was thinking about buying a bird, but they talk a lot, so she decided she wants to buy a dog and teach it to understand sign language. She thanks us for listening to her family story and says she will see you later.

Personal Information: She is the only one in her whole family who is Deaf. She has 1 sister and 2 brothers. Her sister is the oldest and is 30 years old. She has been with her boyfriend for 7 years now and is waiting for him to propose marriage. Her middle brothers are twins, they are 28 years old. One of them is married and has one daughter that is 6 months old, she is very cute. The other twin is gay, his partner writes children's books. The brother is a doctor. They adopted 1 son who is 4 years old. The youngest sibling is Sara and she is 26 years old. She graduated from Gallaudet University and now works in a language lab. She really likes working with ASL students. When she was 15 her parents fought a lot and eventually got a divorce, they did not get along. When she was 21, they apologized to each other and got married again, they are still together now and that is good. Her favorite activities are riding her motorcycle (she has a blue one) through the hills, backpacking, hiking, and bird watching. She then looks at the clock and says that she must go because she has a bunch of papers that her students turned in that she needs to grade.

Personal Information: Both of his parents are Deaf. He has 1 sister who is Deaf, she is married and they have an adopted daughter who is 6 years old and Deaf. Her name is Lynn. Billy has a girlfriend he has been with for 3 years and they might get married in the near future. She is Deaf and her parents are not. Her name is Amy. In his family there are a lot of Deaf relatives. He has 3 aunts and 2 uncles that are Deaf as well as 4 Deaf cousins and 3 hearing cousins. All of them know sign language pretty well. He asks if we remember that he has 2 dogs. 1 of them is Deaf and understands signs such as sit, bathroom, food, and walk. It is a good dog. He looks at the clock and says he has to go bowling and hopes to see you again soon.
